FAQ

How to Care for Your FitRight Hair

Inspect Upon Arrival:
When your FitRight hair arrives, take a moment to inspect it for quality before use. While we thoroughly check every product before shipping, we want to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Brushing & Detangling:

  • Avoid using bristle brushes, as they can pull hair from the tracks and cause bald spots.
  • Use a wide-toothed comb instead, starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots to gently detangle.

Washing:

  • Wash your hair with warm water using a high-quality shampoo and conditioner.
  • Never wash your wig while wearing it! Remove the wig and give it a proper "bath" to clean it thoroughly. Wash your natural hair separately.

Moisturizing & Drying:

  • Apply natural oils, such as argan oil, during or after washing to keep the hair hydrated.
  • Air drying is ideal for retaining moisture, but if you prefer blow-drying, use heat sparingly to avoid damage.
  • Treat the hair as you would your own—keep it moisturized and oiled for a natural, healthy appearance.

Itch Relief:

  • If the scalp begins to itch, use your fingers to gently scratch. Avoid using sharp objects, as they can damage the wig by creating holes.

Styling Flexibility:

  • Feel free to color, cut, crimp, curl, or style the hair however you like.
  • For advanced styling, consult a trusted stylist to ensure proper techniques are used, preserving the hair’s long

Why does my hair tangle or shed?
Tangling or shedding is often caused by improper hair care. To avoid this:

  • Wrap or hang the hair at night to keep it protected.
  • Avoid over-dyeing or over-bleaching.
  • Prevent the hair from becoming excessively dry by moisturizing regularly.

What if the cap doesn't fit?
We recommend measuring your head before placing an order. Leave a note with your preferred cap size when ordering. Our standard caps are designed for medium heads with a 22.5-inch circumference. You can also use the adjustable straps on the wig cap or add extra security with wig bands for a better fit.

Can I swim while wearing the hair?
Swimming in your wig or bundles is not recommended. Saltwater and pool chemicals can cause significant damage to the hair, affecting its texture and longevity.

Is it okay to sleep in my wig?
Yes, you can sleep in your wig! However, we recommend using a silk scarf or bonnet to protect your hairline and reduce friction, which can cause matting. Always gently detangle the hair after removing your wig in the morning.
